Start with what happened.

For a door or household key

Give the full address and the entrance involved. Explain whether you are locked out, want a previous key to stop working or have a lock that is difficult to use. Say whether the door can be secured and whether a working key remains. For a rented unit or business suite, have the person who can authorize work available.

For a vehicle or overhead garage door

For a car, prepare the year, make, model and actual parking location. Say whether the keys are inside or missing. For a garage door, describe its present position, last movement, new noise and the controls involved. Avoid guessing a failed part; explain what you can observe safely.

If the car is near Town Center or a Metro station, name the specific garage or facility and its level or row. A destination name alone may leave several possibilities. Your present location and the vehicle's location may also be different.

Before arranging work

Confirm the provider's identity and availability for the address, then ask what the estimate includes. Keep shared lobby fobs and managed parking credentials with the building's responsible contact. There is no request form on this preview, and selecting a phone link simply hands the number to your device's calling application.
